New Thermostatic
Mixing Valve
January 2008
Our new 5213TM series thermostatic
mixing valve has been tested and approved to both
the Australian Standard AS4032.1 and the requirements
of NSW Health. This will allow the valve to be installed
Australia wide and also in NSW health facilities. |
 |
The 5213TM comes in sizes 15mm and 20mm
and is extremely compact which is especially helpful if
retrofitting. Although the physical size of the valve has
been greatly reduced, its performance has definitely not
been compromised. During independent testing last month,
the 15mm model comfortably achieved flow rates in excess
of 30 litres per minute with balanced inlet pressures of
300kPa. This flow rate is more than comparable with any
other TMV on the market.
The Caleffi TMV will come standard with
two ball valves as isolation valves but we will offer as
an option our new Intaball MX right-angled all-in-one isolating
valve, non-return valve and strainer. It is also available
in a well designed lockable recessed stainless steel box.

range happening and to let our opposition know that some
real competition has arrived.

New NSW Plumbing
Code
June 2006
A new NSW Plumbing and Drainage Code is expected
to be released on July 1st, 2006. This new Code of Practice
will call up AS3500 as its basis but with some variations
likely to occur. It will also include the administrative
requirements that are pertinent to NSW.
We are pleased that the NSW Code of Practice
will become more consistent with the other states as it
will be easier for both plumbers and suppliers alike to
offer standardised products and services.
Included in the Code will be the requirement
that “the maximum pressure at any outlet within a
building, other than a fire service outlet, will be 500kPa”.
This should go a long way towards saving our precious water
supplies, protecting pipework and helping customers appreciate
the benefits of using Caleffi Pressure Reducing Valves.
